Samuel Connellan is an Australian photographer who works in both sport and commercial photography practices. Since picking up the camera in 2019, Samuel began exploring the vast and varied Australian landscape. His early work reflects a deep appreciation for the natural world, shaped by a genuine connection to place and a desire to document the beauty and uniqueness of his surroundings. This grounding continues to influence his approach, whether he's capturing the intensity of live sport or crafting a campaign.
Currently studying a Bachelor of Arts (Photography) at RMIT University, Samuel is refining his craft and expanding his creative practice. Through his studies and growing client experience, he has developed a particular passion for sport photography, where he thrives on the fast pace, emotion, and narrative that each moment offers. At the same time, his commercial work showcases his versatility, bringing energy, clarity, and a strong visual identity to every project.
Samuel has published a book, My Town, in 2021, was awarded two highly commended awards by Australian Photography Magazine, and has been selected to take part in the Up in Lights Exhibition, located in Warrnambool in 2021, 2024, and 2025.
Samuel proudly lives and works on the unceded lands of the Wurundjeri People of the Kulin Nation, and he respectfully acknowledges their continuing connection to Country. He pays respect to Elders past and present.
